Chandigarh, October 5 – Haryana Co-operation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure that both the farmers’ and Ahrtiyas do not face any problem in sale and purchase of crops. Every single grain of farmers will be procured at Minimum Support Price as fixed by the Government. Dr. Banwari Lal said this while inspecting millet procurement in the grain market of Rewari today.
The Minister said that farm acts are very beneficial for the farmers and the positive impact of these acts will be seen in the near future.
He said that the opposition leaders are misleading the farmers about these farm acts, but the farmers of the state are aware and they are not going to be misled by anyone.
He said that the Central and State Governments have taken many historic decisions in the interest of farmers and work is being done seriously to double farmers’ income. The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has not only taken many decisions in the interest of farmers, but so far record compensation amount has also been given to the farmers.
Dr. Banwari Lal said that now after fulfilling the condition of moisture content up to 12 percent, The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) will purchase 100 percent cotton from Haryana. Earlier, only 25 percent cotton was being procured by CCI.
The Minister said that earlier farmers were able to sell their crops at one place, but now through the new acts they can sell their crop anywhere. He directed the officers that special arrangements should be made to ensure that farmers do not face any problem while selling their crops.
On this occasion, Dr. Banwari Lal also heard the problems of traders and farmers and directed Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Mrs. Sumedha Kataria to resolve the problems on priority basis.
