…Accuses govt of attempting to get village land registered fraudulently under duress
-LoP pays visit to Sekhowal village to express solidarity with affected people

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema has demanded that a case of misuse of government office and ‘kidnapping’ be registered against all those officials of Ludhiana Police and Administration for attempting to getting entire 400 acres of land registered under duress, by allegedly kidnapping ‘ Sekhowal Sarpanch Amrik Kaur.
Harpal Singh Cheema on Friday afternoon met Sekhowal Panchayat members and villagers, including village Sarpanch Amrik Kaur and patted them for their unflagging courage to take on the government goons.
The LoP, interacting with the media on the occasion said, “I am here today specially to congratulate the people of Sekhowal village, including Sarpanch Amrik Kaur, who exhibited exemplary courage to fight back the government highhandedness and protecting the rights of the people and the panchayat”.
Cheema said that, while on the one hand people were being harassed for getting their routine works done during the office hours under the guise of corona, on the other the entire 400 acres of land of Sekhowal village was being ‘snatched’ away for good, by allegedly kidnapping the sarpanch to have the land registered under duress, which was a highly reprehensible act.
Cheema called upon the people of Sekhowal to wait and watch and bear in mind that government-sponsored mafia had been left with barely 17 months to meet its nemesis, with the AAP forming the government in the state in 2022, assuring them that no one would be left to face such injustices.
