Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya has extended best wishes to the people of the State on “Hindi Diwas” on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Chandigarh September 14– Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya has extended best wishes to the people of the State on “Hindi Diwas” on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.  He said that the Hindi language has an important contribution in the independence of the country.

Sh. Dattatreya said that the Hindi language had acted as a weapon during the freedom struggle of the country. It was through Hindi language that Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, connected to the people of the country to the freedom struggle which fueled the freedom movement in the country. As a result, India attained independence on August 15, 1947.

He said that about 65 crore people in the world speak Hindi of which more than 45 crore people speak Hindi in India. He said that Hindi is our National language.  Along with its contribution to the country’s independence, Hindi language has ensured in giving international recognition to ancient Indian civilization and culture. The Central Government has worked for the development of Hindi by adding new words of modern usage in it.

He has appealed to the common people to work for the development of their regional language as well as the National language Hindi. He said that a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 is being given to 205 Matra-bhasha Satyagrahis of the Hindi Movement-1957 in the state of Haryana. He appreciated the State Government in this regard.

Governor Sh. Dattatreya has also congratulated the country and the people of the State for achieving the target of 75 crore doses of Covid vaccination on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav in the 75th year of independence. This is a great achievement for the country.  He said that the largest Vaccine programme is being run by the Government of India.  He said that Haryana has also made a special achievement with regard to vaccination.
