Chandigarh, October 24: In view of the immense potential of the integrated aviation centre at Hisar, Haryana, it is now being considered to expand it as a World-Class Aerotropolis Project and Special Economic Zone. For this, MLA Hisar, Dr. Kamal Gupta met Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and submitted a detailed proposal regarding the Aerotropolis Project and Special Economic Zone and held a discussion for the same.
After reviewing the entire project, the Chief Minister appreciated Dr. Kamal Gupta’s work to prepare the project and said that he would explore all possibilities in this regard and serious efforts would be made to implement the project.
During the meeting, Dr. Gupta informed that this proposal has been prepared after extensive study of Aerotropolis Projects in countries like America, South Korea, China and Taiwan.
It is noteworthy that for the expansion of integrated aviation center, 10,000 acres of additional land will be required. With this, various future needs will be met. This airport to be built in Hisar will be the only airport in India that will be completely commercial and industrial. The successful implementation of this plan will make the Aerotropolis Project of Hisar even better than those in the US, South Korea, China, and Taiwan countries.
Here, air travelers will be able to have facilities like hotels, shopping malls, entertainment, and cultural activities. The Aerotropolis Project is designed from a development point of view. Hisar will emerge as a major center of economic activity in the coming times. With the development of this project, not only Haryana but also neighboring states will get its full benefits.
The Aerotropolis project will develop a total of 15 projects, including various electronic equipment, military hardware, aerospace-related items, aircraft maintenance, parts repair and overhauling, Technopark, Pharmaceutical Industry, Medical Hub, Film City, and Food Park which is not found in any other airport in the world. Overall, it will prove to be a very ambitious project.
