Families will be handed over certificate of proprietary rights within a month

26 poor families from Nagar Council Handiaya area will get proprietary rights of their houses under Basera – Chief Minister’s Slum Development Program.

Presiding over the meeting of district level committee held here, the deputy commissioner Barnala Mr Kumar Saurabh Raj said that Punjab government had floated Chief Minister’s Slum Development Programme under which family having 60 square metre or less land are being given proprietary rights for house. This is being done to ensure that the poor and underprivileged have rights to the houses thereby leading a stable life.

All the applications received from slum dwellers were physically verified by a sub committee. Application found to be genuine during physical verification have been approved to be given proprietary rights.

ADC (G) and Urban Development Mr Amit Bamby, SDM Mr Varjeet Walia, executive officer Nagar Council Handiaya Mr Manpreet Singh Sidhu, tehsildar Barnala Mrs Veeina Rani and other members of the sub committee were also present during the meeting.
