In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Tuesday, Bhagwant Mann claimed that there is a movement of going on in favour of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab but the traditional political parties Congress and Akali Dal Badal along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), all have become allies to stop AAP. Bhagwant Mann appealed to all the Punjabis to beware of this nefarious alliance of traditional political parties which have been looting Punjab for 70 years.
Referring to the Assembly elections 2017, Mann said that even then the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and the Congress party had jointly contested the elections under the Dubai Agreement and under this agreement Capt. Amarinder Singh and Ravneet Singh Bittu contested from Lambi and Jalalabad to ensure the victory of Badals. He said that the agreement between Badal and Congress was confirmed by the media as well as Rajya Sabha member and senior leader of Akali Dal Badal Naresh Gujral.
Bhagwant Mann said that the secret pact between the Congress party and the BJP including Shiromani Akali was not only limited to the 2017 elections but also to cover up the nefarious activities of these parties and save each other’s skin in the cases pending in the courts. He said that under the secret agreement former Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had not taken any action against Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia in drug smuggling case nor any action had been taken against Majithia by the Central Government Agency Enforcement Directorate (ED). Even Capt Amarinder Singh and the Congress had not taken any strict action in the cases of sacrilege and police firings.
Bhagwant Mann said that in view of the defeat in the 2022 Assembly elections, the Congress party, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal have again formed an internal alliance to prevent the Aam Aadmi Party from forming a government. Mann claimed that now the people of Punjab have become politically aware and they have decided to elect Aam Aadmi Party government to get rid of these traditional political parties.
