Acting CEC inaugurates Zonal Level Inter School Tournaments

KARGIL, MAY 20, 2022: Acting Chairman, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Abass Razvi today inaugurated Zonal level Inter-School Tournaments at indoor stadium organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports Kargil and Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil.

The Acting CEC was the chief guest on the occasion. Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil, Activity Incharge District Youth Services and Sports Department Muhammad Yousuf, Zonal Physical Education Officer Shakar Chiktan, Ex Councilor Choliskambo Constituency Aga Syed Razvi, Physical Education Lectures, Physical Education Masters, physical Education Teachers of different schools were present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Acting CEC said that LAHDC Kargil is committed to promoting sports and is working on many fronts to strengthen sports infrastructure.

He said after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the tournaments will be a relief for the children and they will get a chance to take part in sports activities.

While appreciating physical education teachers, Razvi said that teachers have to work with dedication and prepare students to participate in district and national tournaments.

The Acting CEC also appreciated Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil for conducting the sports activities despite lack of manpower.

Officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department said in the inter-school tournaments, 200 to 250 students belonging 17 High Schools in Kargil Zone will participate.

The tournaments started with under-17 boys in badminton single and double and 54 students participated on day one. The tournament will continue for under 14 boys also.

The officials said after the block level tournaments, they will select the students for district-level tournaments and then they will be given a chance to participate in UT level tournaments and then also participate in national sports tournaments.
