E-Autos running under RAAHI project of Amritsar smart city limited have become heart throb for daily commuters as they are fed up with noise & air pollution created by diesel autos. Now a large number of E-autos are seen on almost all auto stands. This is the only scheme for auto drivers in which government has given benefit of cash subsidy of Rs.1.40 lacs per auto against the purchase of E-Auto.
There is a good news for the aspirants to buy E-autos as most of the diesel auto pardhans have converted their diesel autos with E-autos in the light of its widespread popularity and to avail benefit of cash subsidy of Rs.1.40 lac per auto. Diesel auto pardhans who have purchased e-autos are Bikramjit Singh Laddi of Main Bus stand, Manveer Singh of City center stand, Tirath Singh Kohali of Bus stand, Harjinder Singh of Sharifpura stand, Narinder Singh Chowdhary of Railway station stand, Shingari of outside Rly station stand, BakshiSinh of DurgianaMandir stand, Radhey sham Tiwari of old KundanDhaba and many more.
Project Incharge& Joint Commissioner Hardeep Singh apprised that work to install EV charging stations is in full swing and it will benefit not only E-auto drivers but two wheeler & four wheeler drivers too and at a very nominal rate. Many E-auto companies are approaching Amritsar Smart City Limited for their empanelment to serve the citizens of this Holy city. He appealed to all diesel auto drivers to go for E-autos at the earliest to avail benefit of cash subsidy of Rs.1.40 lacs and become part & parcel of this RAAHI project to make the city pollution free.
