PULWAMA, MAY 18, 2021: Even though the pandemic has caused a lot of suffering, yet stories of commitment and dedication of health care workers continue to inspire people in trying to contribute in some way in this fight against corona virus. One such front line worker Tabasum Ara from Payir village of district Pulwama has been working in National health Mission for the last ten years.
It is tough to venture out of home and there is fear during this pandemic situation, yet I feel proud to be part of the Health Sector for rendering services towards humanity, Tabasum said.
“I have been vaccinating people in District Hospital Pulwama since the start of the vaccination drive from January 16 2021. I leave my home at village Payir situated 4 kms from the District Hospital Pulwama to start my duty every day at 9 am. The last one year has been crucial in this pandemic and my role is to vaccinate near about 300-400 people every day. Even though there are risks as I don’t know whether the person I am vaccinating is positive or negative but my main concern is to serve people in this pandemic. The job is hectic but I manage with the hope that we will win the fight against this pandemic, she concluded.
