KARGIL JUNE 12, 2021: As a part of the ongoing measures of the District Administration Kargil to ensure provision of free ration besides other essential commodities to the migrant laborers across the district, so that they do not face any inconvenience during the present COVID-19 pandemic, on the direction of the Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Area Development Officer and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar today distributed free dry ration kits to the non-local laborers at Zanskar here today.
Nodal Officer COVID-19 Tsering Nurboo, Surveillance Officer COVID-19 Tashi Gyurmeth besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
More than 100 free dry ration kits out of 1200 ration packets were distributed among the non-local laborers at different construction sites including Pishu Irrigation Canal, Rinem Bridge, Agriculture Farm Stara and other sites through the sub divisional migrant labour committee constituted for the purpose.
Food items were distributed among the laborers as per the scale of rice 5 kgs, , dal 1.50 kgs, cooking oil 1 liter, nutri nuggets 1.50 kgs, sugar 0.5 kgs, milk powder 0.5 kgs, 3 masks and 1 soap per person besides sanitary pads for female laborers.
Meanwhile, the non-local laborers conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the District and Sub Divisional Administration for providing them free ration kits.
