CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today planted mango saplings at the Chief Minister’s Residence complex as part of his resolve to plant saplings daily. CM Shri Chouhan told that the plant will grow and bear fruit and will also contribute towards environmental protection. Mango, India is the all-accessible and easy to plant fruit tree in almost every province of the year. Mango is called the king of fruits because of its taste, fragrance and complexion. There are more than 1,000 varieties of mangoes, out of which only 40-50 varieties have been found suitable from a commercial point of view. Dashahari, Lagda, Chausa, Fajri, Alphonjo, Totapari, Bombay Green etc. are the major varieties of mangoes. Noorjahan and Sundarja Mango of Rewa at Kattiwada in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh have their own different identity. There are some local varieties of mangoes like Amrapali, Mallika, Gajaria, Dahiyad etc.
