Come forward to donate blood and save human life – Health Minister

Jaipur, July 26 .Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma said that blood donation is the highest form of humanitarian service. The importance of blood donation has increased during the period of corona pandemic. He said, “By donating blood we can become a basis of life for every needy.” Praising all medical personnel of the State, he said that their contributions have played an important role in strengthening the health services in the State.

A voluntary blood donation camp and a public awareness campaign to prevent corona infection was organised by the Rajasthan Nursing Council at Rajasthan Nursing Council premises on the occasion of the birthday of the Health Minister on Monday. Addressing the programme, the Health Minister said that along with the government  efforts, the social organisations have an important role in creating awareness towards voluntary blood donation.

Dr. Sharma praising the works done by the nursing personnel in preventing corona infection and its treatment said they are the important link of the Health department. He said the medical personnel during the first and second wave of corona saved the lives of thousands of people with dedication. He called upon everybody to remain prepared with full enthusiasm for a possible third wave.

The Health Minister said that the State is fully prepared for a possible third wave of corona. While the health structures are being strengthened rapidly in the State, on the other hand continuous recruitment is being done for all necessary medical and health services. He said that in the last two years, around 12,500 ANMs and GNMs along with more than 7,800 CHOs and around 2,700 doctors have been recruited. He said that the recruitment process of LT, Radiographers and other cadres is on.

Rajasthan Nursing Council president Dr KK Sharma said that the State Government did excellent work in the first and second wave of corona. The State Government has fulfilled the long demand of the nursing personnel to change the designation. He said that the attitude of the Government has been positive on many demands including forming a cadre for pharmacists.

Registrar Shri Mahesh Kumar Sharma in his welcome speech expressed gratitude to the Health Minister for the works done in the interest of nursing personnel. He praised the works done in making Rajasthan a leading State in the country in regard to prevention of corona infection.

In the voluntary blood donation camp organised by the Rajasthan Nursing Council, 325 nursing personnel registered their names of blood donation and more than 320 units of blood were donated. Many eminent guests were present during the inauguration of the blood donation camp.
