Developmental taxes, charges reduced in Panchkula, announces Chief Minister Manohar Lal

Chandigarh, March 2: While ensuring holistic development of Panchkula and in a bid to woo Real Estate Investors for making potential investment in Panchkula district, Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal today announced that various developmental charges and taxes have been reduced by almost one-third in Panchkula district, bringing them at par with Mohali and Zirakpur.

Manohar Lal while addressing a Press Conference here today said, “The decision to bring down External Development Charges (EDC) and Infrastructure Development Charges (IDC) at par with Mohali and Zirakpur has been taken to ensure overall development of Panchkula and to develop Panchkula as a Smart City, Tourist Destination and Education Hub” said the Chief Minister.

As per the decision, EDC/IDC rates for the Residential Plots Colony have now been reduced from Rs.1.24 crore per acre to Rs. 43.72 lakh per acre. Likewise, EDC/IDC rates for the Residential Group Housing Colony are reduced from Rs. 3.46 crore per acre to Rs. 1.17 crore per acre.

The Chief Minister announced that EDC/IDC rates for the Commercial Colonies have been reduced from Rs. 5.88 crore per acre to Rs. 1.52 crore per acre. EDC/IDC rates for Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna have been reduced from Rs. 93.44 lakh per acre to Rs. 32.89 lakh per acre, announced Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister further announced that EDC/IDC rates for Affordable Group Housing Colony have been reduced from Rs. 89.11 lakh per acre to Rs. 38.87 lakh per acre.

“EDC/IDC rates for Warehouse/ Cold storage are now fixed at Rs.14.30 lakh per acre, while earlier the same were Rs. 2.96 crore per acre. Similarly, EDC/IDC rates for Industry have been fixed at Rs. 14.30 lakh per acre, while earlier the same was Rs. 2.94 crore per acre, shared the Chief Minister.

“EDC/IDC rates for Institutions have been reduced from Rs. 77 lakh per acre to 8.68 lakh per acre.  EDC/IDC rates for Marriage Palaces/Banquet halls/ Hotels have been reduced to Rs. 25.26 lakh per acre, while earlier the same was Rs. 3.17 crore per acre,” announced the Chief Minister.

The EDC/IDC rates for petroleum pumps have been reduced from Rs. 3.42 crore per acre to Rs. 43.29 lakh per acre. The EDC/IDC rates for Hospitals have been fixed at Rs. 17.31 lakh per acre, while earlier the same was Rs. 77 lakh per acre, informed Manohar Lal.

Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, D.S Dhesi, Media Adviser to Chief Minister, Amit Arya, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, T.V.S.N Prasad, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General, Information Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Adviser, Public Safety, Grievances, Good Governance and overall Incharge, CM Window, Anil Rao, and other senior officials were present on this occasion.
