Under DAPO and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhian (NMBA) the District Administration Fazilka in association with Sri Bala Ji Charitable Foundation Abohar organized a cycle rally against drugs here today. The people of Abohar participated in this awareness rally with great enthusiasm and expressed their commitment to create a drug free society.
The rally was flagged off by Mr. Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner, Fazilka. Senior leader Sandeep Jakhar and Municipal Corporation Mayor Vimal Thathai were also present on the occasion. The rally started from Nehru Park and passed through the main roads of the city and ended back at Nehru Stadium.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu in his address said that in order to prevent children from associating with the wrong society, it was important for the parents to maintain closeness with their children and understand their problems and needs. He appealed to the parents to spend as much time as possible with their children.
Mr. Sandeep Jakhar in his address said that the government led by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has taken strict steps to eradicate drug menace and also providing free treatment to the drug addicts.
Mr. Vimal Thathai called upon every citizen to play an active role in achieving victory in the war against drugs. Dr. Gauri Sankar Mittal shared in detail the efforts being made by Sri Bala Ji Charitable Foundation for drug prevention. Tehsil Welfare Officer Mr. Ashok Kumar informed about the DAPO and NMBA. Dr. Rakesh Sehgal shared tips on fitness for the youth.
Dr. Sahil Mittal thanked all and distributed medals and certificates to the participants of the rally as well as refreshment was also provided to the participants. An oath was also administered on the occasion to create a drug free society.
Mr. Ram Prakash Mittal, Mr. BL Sikka, Mr. Atinderpal Singh Tinna were also present on the occasion.
