District Ambala, Rohtak and Faridabad declared as front runner in Tap connection coverage (100 %) under Jal Jeevan Survekshan 2022-23

Chief Secretary reviewed 54 projects more than Rs. 100 crores each of 10 departments

Chandigarh, November 21– Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal disclosed that three districts of Haryana namely Ambala, Rohtak and Faridabad are declared as front runners in Tap connection coverage (100 %) under Jal Jeevan Survekshan 2022-23 conducted by Government of India. First place is bagged by district Ambala, second place Rohtak and third position is secured by district Faridabad.

        This was disclosed by the Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal in the meeting of the Committee of Administrative Secretaries, held here today to review projects worth more than Rs. 100 crores. About 54 projects worth more than Rs. 100 crores each of 10 departments including Technical Education, Power, Public Health Engineering, Civil Aviation, Public Works (B&R) and Architecture, Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research, Irrigation and Water Resources, Cooperation and Home were discussed in the meeting. The total cost of all projects was around Rs. 16,000 crores.

        The Chief Secretary said that speedy completion of big projects is one of the priorities of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal. The administrative secretary should ensure to complete the work of these public welfare projects in a time- bound manner keeping in mind the milestones fixed.

        It was apprised in the meeting that the renovation work of the existing 11 KV feeder line under smart City program, Gurugram, Sector 14, 17, 30, 31, 32, 40, Jharsa and DLF division at a cost of Rs. 255.8 crores have been completed.

        Besides this, Widening of 6-lanning/Lanning of Karnal Meerut Road, NH 709A at a cost of Rs. 151.57 crores, construction of 4 lane from Rai Milkapur to Kharak Corridor & Bhiwani bypass at a cost Rs. 247.25 construction of 576 multi-storied houses in Gurugram at a cost of Rs. 105.92 crores have been completed.

        It was informed in the meeting that work of augmentation drinking water supplies scheme in 80 No. villages of Jhirka and Nagina block at an estimate cost of Rs. 210.9 crores, augmentation water supply scheme Bhalkhi, Mahendragarh at a cost of Rs. 114.7 crores are on the verge of completion. He directed the officers to expedite the work and address all the issues coming in the way of work. He added that delay in any work will not be accepted at any cost.

        He added that inter-area departmental coordination should be strengthened ensuring timely completion of critical projects. He further stated that nodal officers are crucial to the success of any project and they should make strenuous efforts to complete their work before the deadline. He said that every project can be completed at a faster pace with mutual coordination, so if there is more than one nodal officer in any department, they should work with coordination. He also directed the officers to send a planned report in a stipulated time frame.

        During the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. VS Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, Sh. TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, School Education Department, Sh. Mahavir Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Haryana, PW (B&R) and Architecture Department, Sh. Ankur Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Departments, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. AK Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Haryana, Sh. V. Umashankar,  Chairman, HPU, Sh. P.K Das and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
