The ‘Standup Policy’ will continue but ‘Sitdown Policy’ offering freebies will not be entertained, says Manohar Lal
Chandigarh, March 31 : Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government has decided to restore the 3 percent quota for sportspersons in group C government jobs. Besides this, the 10 percent reservation given in group D jobs is already in place, he added.
The Chief Minister said this while interacting with the media after meeting the National President, BJP, Sh. J. P Nadda, in New Delhi today.
The Chief Minister said that under the ‘Padak Lao, Pad Pao’ programme of the State Government, sportspersons would be provided government jobs in future as well.
With the restoration of the 3 per cent job quota in Group -C posts, around 400-450 players are expected to be benefitted.
“Not only this, now the government will also give a chance to the players to choose the department of their interest before recruiting them for the Group-C jobs,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that many complaints regarding irregularities in the gradation certificates have been reported and to redress all such complaints a special portal has been developed by the state government.
“On this portal, the information of the winning players and players participating in sports events organized by the sports organizations affiliated to the sports department will be uploaded and will be available in the public domain. After verification of this data, a graduation certificate will be issued”, he added.
The Chief Minister said that during this entire exercise an automatic, audit will also be done and this would also help in identifying if someone’s name is wrongly entered on the portal.
“Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has formulated a ‘Standup Policy’ aimed at empowering the poor and needy with the help of the government.
Taking a dig at Delhi Chief Minister, Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister said that his government works on the ‘Sitdown Policy’ by offering freebies. This Policy is very hazardous and people are now understanding the disadvantages of this Policy.
“We have started taking suggestions from the people of the State and people are saying that this ‘Freebies Policy’ is ‘completely wrong, due to which people will not be able to become self-reliant. The public is also in favour of the ‘Stand-up Policy’ of the Prime Minister,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
