The  Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia has accused Punjab Chief Minister,  Charanjit Singh Channi of misguiding homeless people belonging to Scheduled Castes in the guise of giving them five marla plots. He said that this act of the Punjab Chief Minister is similar to employment cards fraud.

Manish Sisodia was interacting with the media in Jalandhar during his one-day tour of Punjab on Saturday. On this occasion, Leader of Opposition, Harpal Singh Cheema and State President of Scheduled Castes Wing, Lal Chand Kataruchak, State General Secretary, Harchand Singh Barsat and Women’s Wing President, Rajwinder Kaur Thiara were also present.

Earlier, Manish Sisodia paid obeisance at the temple of Lord Valmiki ji in Shakti Nagar and also flagged off the Shobha Yatra organized on the manifest day of Valmiki ji.  Addressing the media in Jalandhar, Manish Sisodia said that in 2017, three months before the elections, former Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh had distributed complete loan waiver cards to farmers and employment cards for the unemployed under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar scheme, with the aim of luring people into the trap. Not only this, Captain had also promised of giving unemployment allowance to the cardholders till they do not get employment. But for four and a half years, Captain and the Congress did not even remember any of such cards.

Now like Captain, present Chief Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi not only has completely forgotten the employment cards given by his party but has himself started playing the old game of distributing new cards, said Sisodia. Responding to a question regarding allotment letters given by Punjab Chief Minister for 5 marla plots, Manish Sisodia said that Channi has now started showing dreams of 5 Marla plots to the homeless people of Punjab. Just as the employment card was a hoax, Channi’s claim of giving five marla of land to the people is also a mere hoax, he added.

Sisodia said that as no one got employment and employment allowance from Captain’s employment card, in the same way, no one will get five marla plots as promised by Chief Minister Channi. Questioning Chief Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, Manish Sisodia said that Channi has served as MLA and Minister thrice, can he tell as to how many people he had given five marla plots till date.

Sisodia said that this gimmick of Congress is going on since 1961 but it is repeatedly taken out before elections to entice people. In 2017 also the same promise was made before the elections, which was not fulfilled for past four and a half years. But now the general public very well understands if the work is not done in last four and half years then how the new Chief Minister of Punjab is going to complete the same in the remaining four months. Manish Sisodia, while answering media questions, said that the Aam Aadmi Party always does more than what it promises.
