CM Shri Chouhan pays tribute to Dr. Jagdish Chandra Bose on his death anniversary

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid homage to the famous scientist Dr. Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose on his death anniversary. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan paid floral tributes by garlanding his picture in the auditorium at his residence.

Dr. Jagdish Chandra Bose was born on November 30, 1858 in Memon Singh (now Bangladesh) of Faridpur in Dhaka district of Bengal. Since childhood, he was very fond of trees and plants. Apart from this, he was also fond of reading the Mahabharata, Gita and The Ramayana.

Dr. Bose was a famous scientist of India, who had deep knowledge of Physics, Biology, Botany and Archaeology. He was the first scientist to work on the optics of radio and microwaves. He made many important discoveries in Botany. He was the first Indian scientist to get an American patent. He is considered the father of Radio Science. Dr. Bose also used to write science fiction and is also considered the father of Bengali science fiction. Dr. (Sir) Bose died on November 23, 1937 in Kolkata.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan tweeted – ‘Salute to the father of Radio Science, great scientist Shri Jagdish Chandra Bose on his death anniversary. Shri Bose was not only the first scientist to work on radio and optics of microwaves, but he has also proved that there is life in plants too. Science is incomplete without his principles.’
