Comprehensive measures to bring down covid positivity rate on mission mode started at Anantnag

DC presses for adherence to CAB, vaccination of all eligible people forthwith
ANANTNAG, JUNE 02, 2021: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag Dr. Piyush Singla today said that the District has started comprehensive measures to further bring down the positivity rate to below 5 percent in the next 10 days.
He said this while chairing a high level meeting of officers of district administration, health, police and other departments besides stakeholders viz ULB members, representatives of  transport and trade associations, imams & religious leaders, auqaf  presidents and civil society members at Dak Bangalow Khanabal here.
Addressing the meeting, the DC said that a robust mechanism has been put in place wherein mobile health teams will regularly test people at high exposure areas like markets, Mandis, entry and exit points of main towns, banks etc. The timely identification and isolation of positive persons in high contact places will curtail the spread of infection and bring down the positivity rate, he remarked.
Dr. Singla called for strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) during unlock period and directed the SDMs to enforce Covid SOPs and Guidelines in letter and spirit within their jurisdictions. Maximum exhibition of responsible behaviour on part of all citizens will bear its fruits in near future and greater normalcy and economic activity will be restored, he added.
The DC said the Public Health is the top priority of administration and warned of strict legal action against the violators of SOPs/Guidelines for saving the precious human lives.
While lauding the role of religious leaders and civil society members for awaring the masses about the importance of covid SOP’s and vaccination, the DC asked them to further compliment the efforts of administration in the larger interest of public health and safety.
He impressed upon the stakeholders to ensure that all the members of their associations get vaccinated at an earliest adding the vaccinated ones should continue to adhere to Covid SOPs and also get tested periodically.
The DC said the Pandemic is not over yet and hence during this period the SOPs and Vaccinations become even more important for the unlock process go smoothly.
Dr. Singla also passed directions for utilising the recently established 5 bedded Panchayat Covid Care Centres for isolation and basic treatment of Covid paitients besides mobilising teams at Booth level for inoculating the nonvaccinated 45 plus persons.
 The meeting was attended by President MCA, SSP, ADC(S), GM DIC, SDM’s of Dooru, Bijbehara and Pahalgam, ACD, ACR, HoD, SPM GMC Ang, MS GMC, Exen R & B Khanabal, CMO, Dy.CMO, Tehsildars Anantnag and Kokernag, BDO Anantnag, Presidents of Trade, Transport, Fruit & Vegetable Associations, religious leaders, Auqaf presidents and civil society members.
