DILIP KUMAR AND RAJ KAPOOR’S TO-BE MUSEUM HOMES BECOME RUINS-WHY?

The story of Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar, Pakistan is again in the news. Here is the ancestral home of great Bollywood personalities. The houses of celebrities like Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Sharukh Khan are around800 meters from the market. These ancestral houses of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were bought by the government for some time and it was decided to convert them into museums. But today no officer is looking at these houses. Today the condition of these 100-year-old buildings is so bad that the locals are throwing garbage in it, yet there is no officer present to stop them. In 2014, the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif declared these buildings as national antlers.

Dilip Kumar’s House

The condition of this building is very bad. It is completely shabby. Here people are dumping their garbage but still no one is taking care of it. Three floors have been completely damaged since May 5 and its owner has also stopped taking care of it.

Raj Kapoor’s Haveli

The condition of this mansion is very bad too. The mansion for which people waited 6–6 months to stay in, is in ruins today. The two floors above this building have been demolished and the entire building is dilapidated. The earthquake of 2005 hit the building badly and stopped the organization of parties and conferences here.

In 2018, the state government decided to make these houses museums, but their owners did not even decide to sell it. People have the impression that these buildings can become victims of any major accident and cause a lot of damage.
