REASI, MAY 31, 2021: As per the Action Plan/Calendar for the month of May, 2021, issued by the J&K Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi today organised an On-line programme on “World No Tobacco Day” with a theme “Commit to Quit (2021)” as set by World Health Organisation.
The event was organised by DLSA under the guidance and supervision of R.N.Wattal, the Chairman and in collaboration with Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Reasi.
Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary, DLSA, Reasi delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Pawan Kr. Sharma MD (Community Medicines) was the Resource Person.
He discussed the harmful effects of smoking in Medical Terminology.
Panel Advocate, Rashi Baru acted as a moderator in the said Webinar.
The school Principal, Faculty Members and the students, besides Para Legal Volunteers of the District attended the On-line programme.
The Principal and two students, Aryan Nanda (12th Standard) and Sumit Dogra (10th Standard) also spoke on the occasion.
The objective of organising the webinar was to spread awareness among the participants about the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco and how we can protect the youth from the dangerous habit of smoking.
