LAUNCH OF VACCINATION FOR 18-45 YEARS OF AGE GROUP: CONSTRUCTION WORKERS TO BE COVERED IN FIRST PHASE

ADMINISTRATION RECEIVES 6310 DOSES IN FIRST LOT FOR 18 PLUS AGE GROUP

With receiving 6310 doses of COVID vaccine for se group between 18 to 45 years, the District Administration will start vaccination for only Construction Workers category at four location on Monday.
Giving details in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said that the eligible construction workers having age between 18 and 45 years could get themselves vaccinated at Civil Hospital, Hoshiarpur and Sub Divisional Hospitals at Dasuya, Mukerian and Garhshankar. She informed that there would be separate medical teams conducting routine immunisation and vaccination to 18 plus construction workers at the said locations. There are more than 80 regular session sites where health teams were inoculating COVID vaccine to beneficiaries and eligible people should come forward for immunisation at the earliest, she added.
Besides four locations designated for launch of vaccination for 18-45 years age, other beneficiaries can get inoculated at other sessions sites in the district. She said that tere will be no shortage of vaccine as the injections were being received in lots and the Administration had got the first lot of 6310 doses for the category of 18 years plus beneficiaries.
Notably, as many as 298479 doses have been administered in the district so far including first doses to 9007 Health Care Workers and 4649 second doses.
Similarly, 30670 frontline workers have received the jab of first dose while 7433 second dose. Likewise, the age group between 45 years and 59 years as many as 141944 beneficiaries got vaccinated with first dose while 18240 with second dose. In the age group of 60 and above 70901 beneficiaries have received first dose and 15635 second dose.
Deputy Commissioner also appealed all building contractors in the district to send the workers at these four locations for vaccination. She informed that only name, Aadhar number and mobile number of the beneficiary is required for inoculation and those who have their registration number issued by the Labour Department could also mention the same.
