Tips and tricks to treat acne breakouts at home

If you are dealing with acne breakouts, then you should take care of the following things which play an important role to treat acne.

  • Never squeeze or scratch the pimple as they leave a scar behind.
  • Don’t apply cosmetic products to your skin on a daily basis. And don’t leave makeup on overnight.
  • Avoid touching your face without any reason.

However, some basic skincare routine can also reduce the chances of pimples. These includes,

  • Clean your wash with mild soap or face wash containing salicylic acid as it removes all the impurity and make-up from your face.
  • Wash your face twice a day and especially when you come home from work.
  • If your hair is oily, then wash your hair daily.
  • Tie your hairs at the back as they also contain dandruff or any other bacteria which lead to acne.
  • Avoid alcohol toners that cause harms your skin.

There are some home remedies proven to be beneficial to cure acne and give clean and soft skin. You can try when you feel that acne breakouts are there:

  • Ice cubes: Ice cubes act as a cold compressor for acne. Wrap ice cubes in a cloth and apply to the pimple for 5–10 minutes. After this take a break for few times and then apply again for the next 15 minutes.
  • Honey:  Doctors use honey in wound dressings because of its antibacterial and wound-healing properties. Clean your finger or cotton pad and pour a few drops of honey on it. Rub the honey into pimples. You can also add honey to your face mask for better results.
  • Coconut Oil: Extract pure coconut oil and apply directly to your acne parts. Look for the original coconut oil from the section of grocery stores or online. As coconut oil contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds which control acne breakouts and lowers down the redness and swelling of pimples.
  • Aloe Vera- Apply fresh Aloe Vera on the face or affected areas extracted from the plant directly. For satisfactory results apply two times a day.
  • Green tea extracts- Applying green tea extracts or green tea cubes on your face soothes your redness and swelling of pimples and gives your cooling effect.
  • Apple cider vinegar- Put a few drops of apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and pat on acne-prone skin to get relaxation.
