Collective Efforts Needed Against Drugs and Crime: SSP Varinder Singh Brar
Fazilka, 23 November 2024
As per the directions of Hon’ble DGP Punjab, Mr. Gaurav Yadav, Fazilka Police has initiated “Project Sampark,” aimed at strengthening cooperation and trust between the police and the public.
Under this project, a special seminar was organized today at Paradiso Hotel, Fazilka, under the leadership of SSP Mr. Varinder Singh Brar.
The seminar witnessed significant participation from Village Defense Committee (VDC) members, social leaders, and the general public. Addressing the gathering, SSP Mr. Brar stated that “Project Sampark” is not just about combating drugs but is also a sustained battle against organized crime, street crime, and anti-social elements. He urged everyone to join hands with the police to make this campaign successful.
SSP Mr. Brar emphasized that drugs often infiltrate from across the border, and every possible effort is being made by the BSF, Army, and police to curb this menace. However, these efforts alone are not sufficient; victory in this fight is only possible with the active cooperation of the public. He said, “Just as we collectively defeated terrorism, the same spirit is needed to combat drugs and crime.”
He appealed to social leaders and people from various sections of society to immediately share any information regarding drug smugglers and anti-social elements with the police so that strict action can be taken against them. This initiative is not limited to identifying criminal elements but is also aimed at building a safe, peaceful, and drug-free society.
Under “Project Sampark,” Fazilka Police has so far organized more than 60 meetings, instilling new hope and inspiration among the public. This campaign will continue persistently, and Fazilka Police will leave no stone unturned to eradicate drugs.
“Project Sampark” is a comprehensive awareness initiative that will serve as a shield against drugs and crime. The Fazilka Police appeals to everyone to unite and ensure victory in this battle against drugs and crime.
