“FORESTS AROUND LUDHIANA” – FILM & PICTORIAL BROCHURE RELEASED BY DEPUTY COMMISSIONER LUDHIANA

 DEDICATED TO WORLD FORESTRY DAY 2023

  • Step to promote the mesmerizing forest locations amongst citizens of Ludhiana   

Ludhiana, March 21 :- 

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik, IAS today released Documentary film and Pictorial Brochure titled, “Forests Around Ludhiana” which highlights pristine countryside forest locations around Ludhiana, compiled by Punjab’s eminent Author & Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu in collaboration with District Administration and Forest Department, Ludhiana during event held at Mini Secretariat, Ludhiana to mark significance of World Forestry Day 2023.

“Forests Around Ludhiana” Film and Pictorial Brochure portray forest locations of the beautiful flora-fauna and natural serenity unveiling the stunning beauty of meadows that might have been ignored by the travellers. This pictorial work aims to promote the significance of Nature within Citizens of Ludhiana as it portrays truly stunning Forest areas of Mattewara Forest, Garhi Fazil Forest, Neelon Forest, New Haider Nagar Forest and Halwara forest enabling the people of Ludhiana to have a closer look of nature around them.

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana, Surabhi Malik, IAS after releasing the Pictorial Brochure and Film “Forests Around Ludhiana” applauded the dedicated efforts of Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu for initiating joint work with Forest Department Ludhiana to promote vivid colours of Natural Forest locations of District Ludhiana, which will definitely highlight these lesser known forest locations and motivate people of Ludhiana to work individually or in groups towards preservation of Nature and also witness these seldom known mesmerizing locations of Forests around Ludhiana.

Divisional Forest Officer, Ludhiana Harbhajan Singh, PFS acknowledged the untiring efforts of Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu for capturing serene and stunning beauty of Natural Forests in and around District Ludhiana through his camera lens which will generate enthusiasm amongst citizens of Ludhiana for exploring these unseen forest locations and further promote tourism prospects of District Ludhiana.

Harpreet Sandhu, maker of the short film said that it took more than three months to complete this pictorial work in and around Mattewara forests with the support of Forest Department Ludhiana and compile in form of a short film and pictorial brochure to project the vibrant colours of stunning countryside forest locations of District Ludhiana which will be an eye opener for citizens of Ludhiana as through the pictorial work they can witness these natural treasures that are hidden in their own backyards.
