Government has failed to take on the Covid crisis in the state: AAP

AAP leaders visit Rajindra Hospital to take stock of arrangements put in place

Patiala, August 8

Prominent leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Saturday visited the local Rajindra Hospital amid a spike in the Covid-19 cases and spoke to the patients infected with the novel Coronavirus and members of their families over the arrangements made by the government there.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Kotkapura MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan informed that the government hospitals, especially the Covid care centres, in terms of amenities provided there were far too inadequate, saying the reports emanating from CM Amarinder Singh’s own home constituency, especially from Rajindra Hospitals, were worrying.

Sandhwan, quoting members of the patients’ families admitted here, said the arrangements at the hospital were in shambles and lacked transparency and a conducive atmosphere to fight the virus.

He said, quoting Nodal Officer Surbhi Malik and other senior functionaries of the hospital, they had assured all possible help to ramp up amenities at the hospital.

Other present on the occasion included Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri and state political review committee chairman Harchand Singh Bursat
