Gurkirat Singh Kotli unfurls ‘Flag of Unity’ at village Tolemajra

A memorial to come up dedicated to those laying down their lives during dark days of terrorism

“The people of Punjab would always remember the sacrifices made by the martyrs who laid down their lives during the dark decade of terrorism in the State.” These views were expressed today by the MLA from Khanna Mr. Gurkirat Singh Kotli on the occasion of unfurling a ‘Flag of Unity’ at village Tolemajra in memory of Narpinder Pal Singh Prince who was martyred on 11.3.1992. The flag’s pole is 100 ft while it’s size is 30×20 ft. 

Divulging more, Mr. Kotli said that State is witnessing peaceful atmosphere today only because of the untold number of the sacrifice made by the people from all sections of the society who opposed extremist tendencies tooth and nail. He also said that it is the responsibility of the present generation to preserve the legacy bestowed by the martyrs.

 He further elaborated that the names of those who laid down their lives in terror days in Punjab to be engraved on the memorial which would come up adjacent to the Flag of Unity. 

Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included Former Cabinet Minister, Punjab, Mr. Tej Prakash Singh Kotli, Family members of Late Narpinder Pal Singh Prince, Ex Sarpanch Tolemajra Mr. Parminder Singh Sona, Pandit Om Prakash Ex President MC Kharar, Kulwant Singh Sarpanch Tripri.
