Hathras horror fallout of the BJP’s  seething hatred for Dalits:  Harpal Singh Cheema

…AAP delegation meets Hathras victim’s family, shares grief

…AAP for Supreme Court-monitored probe by CBI into Hathras case

…Yogi’s ‘Ram Raj’ narrative stands deflated turning it into ‘Ravana Raj’

Chandigarh, October 5

Senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab and Leader of Opposition, Harpal Singh Cheema, has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) seething hatred for dalits and the poor had led to the heinous crime at Hathras that had shamed the entire humanity, saying the incident clearly indicated the collapse of the law and order situation in the Yogi-led UP government. Cheema has demanded a Supreme Court-monitored CBI probe into the incident so that those behind this horrific crime could be brought to justice.

A delegation of the AAP led by Harpal Singh Cheema, on Monday met the bereaved family of the Hathras victim to share its grief. The delegation included party national leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla, Delhi Cabinet Minister Rajinder Pal Gautam, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Master Baldev Singh (All MLAs) and Dalit leader Amrik Singh Bangar. Cheema later addressed the media.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Monday, Harpal Singh said that the family of the victim, including parents, grandmother and other kin at their residence and shared their grief. He alleged that the yogi government’s stubborn stance against the aggrieved Dalit family was shocking. Cheema said “We were told by mother of the victim that the UP administration did not allow her (Mother) to see her face on her last journey and that she was cremated at the dead of night. This is the culmination of the Taliban-minded government of the goons ruling UP”

Harpal Singh Cheema said that the BJP government, which could be seen chanting, more often than not, the slogan ‘Beti bachao, beti padhao’ had been a misnomer as what to talk of educating daughters, especially those belonging to dalits-poor families, they were not even safe in the BJP regime.
