Here’s how screen time develops health complications

According to a cardiologist, if you spend most of your waking hours in front of a computer screen, laying about, or binge-watching online series or movies, you are at a high risk of having a heart attack. According to research, those who sit for 10 hours or more per day are more likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke than people who sit for five hours or less each day. Sitting has a negative impact on blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and bone health. It can also increase the chances of a blood clot forming in a vein, which can be fatal.

Sitting raises blood pressure, which can increase the risk of diabetes, extra fat around the midsection, blood cholesterol levels, and obesity, according to doctors.

The cardiologist goes on to describe how sitting for lengthy periods of time can cause problems in one’s neck and back muscles, to the point where one’s crucial disk can be injured.

Physical activity is also beneficial to your bones, as sitting for lengthy periods of time increases the risk of osteoporosis and bone thinning.

“It is stated that as we walk or move, our bodies put stress on our bones. This keeps the body healthy by allowing the specialized cell to generate new bone tissues. Long periods of sitting restrict bodily mobility, resulting in fewer new bone tissues, making the bone weaker,” the expert explained.

Changes in a sitting position can help mitigate the negative effects of extended sitting on your health. Movement and mobility during work hours help us stay energized, focused (and less exhausted), and productive at our jobs or tasks we are assigned, and it is just healthier for our general physical well-being.

It is strongly advised that you should not sit for more than 40 minutes at a time and that you take frequent breaks.
