LAUDS EFFORTS OF EDUCATION AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR INOCULATING ENTIRE SCHOOL STAFF WITHIN TIMELINE

In what reflects the district administration’s resolve to ensuring safety of children at schools, District Jalandhar has secured top position in the state in inoculation drive for teachers by ensuring complete vaccination of 97.74 percent school staff in the district.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that a total of 7520 school staff including teaching and non-teaching out of 7694 has been successfully vaccinated so far, which is the highest in the state. He added that a special drive was launched in the district to ensure vaccination of all school staff within given timeline by arranging mobile vaccination camps nearby schools besides some special camps were also held in the schools.
The DC further lauded the efforts of health and education department for covering entire teaching and non teaching staff under this special drive so as to no teacher was left without it. To achieve this goal 22 exclusive camps for school staff were held across district last month which resulted in this massive coverage, he added.
Mr. Thori further directed the education and health department to ensure strict adherence of Covid-19 appropriate behavior in schools including social distancing, masking, hand sanitizing, and others. He asked health officials to ensure random RT PCR testing in schools so that virus spread is kept under check.
