Health Minister Anil Vij conducts surprise inspection of Civil Hospital, Fatehabad; takes stock of COVID-19 preparedness

Chandigarh, December 31– Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij conducted a surprise inspection of the oxygen plant, vaccination site, sampling spot in Civil Hospital, Fatehabad and took stock of the medical arrangements and also gave necessary directions to the officers present so that arrangements could be made accordingly for the treatment of COVID-19.

Sh.  Anil Vij inspected Covid Care Centre, Ventilator, Vaccination Camp and Sampling Spot along with Oxygen Plant installed in Civil Hospital. Fatehabad.

Sh. Vij took stock of the operational activities of the plant where 94 percent level oxygen was being supplied smoothly. After this, the Health Minister inspected the Covid Care Center and checked the ventilator himself by turning it on and expressed his satisfaction.

The Health Minister directed the officers to make adequate arrangements in view of the possible third wave of Covid. While directing the officers of the district administration, he said that they should ensure that COVID appropriate behavior is followed. He also directed the officers of the police administration to ensure that the night curfew is followed as per the orders issued and people should not be allowed to venture out without wearing masks, nor should they  gather unnecessarily in crowded places.

Sh. Anil Vij ordered the officers present to increase the pace of vaccination and asked the health department officers to plan for it. Vaccination campaign for children in the age group of 15 to 18 years is being started in the state from January 3, 2022. He directed the officers of the Health Department to organize separate sites and sessions for vaccination of children and if there is a parallel site for adults, then separate lines should be made for them and their staff should also be kept separate.

The Health Minister said that there are 15.40 lakh children between 15 to 18 years of age in the state, their registration will start from Saturday and vaccination will start from Monday. There will be a separate line for them in the vaccination centres. Apart from this, the vaccine team will also be different. Children will be administered Covaxin.

Sh. Vij said that we have increased the number of oxygen plants in our hospitals. At present 84 plants are running. At the same time, private hospitals above 50 beds have also been asked to set up plants, under which plants have also been set up in 54 private hospitals. These plants are being inspected. Whether the ventilators are also working or not is also being checked. He said that 780 new doctors would be recruited in the state.

The Health Minister said that from January 1, 2022, only those who have got both doses of the vaccine will be allowed to move in public places and be allowed to enter government. All the Deputy Commissioners have been directed to form teams of employees of all departments and get them checked randomly.

The Home Minister said that action is being taken against the officers and employees who do not carry out their duties in the police stations. He said that directions have been given to all the SPs to hold darbars every day for one hour so that the grievances of the public can be redressed on time.

Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Pardeep Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Surinder Singh Bhoria, SDM, Sh. Rajesh Kumar and CMO, Dr. Viresh Bhushan were present on the occasion.
