Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that cultural activities play an important role in making worthy citizens. Cultural programmes give good values ​​and qualities in children. It is important to have cultural events to give opportunities to the creativity in children.  Our childhood plays a significant role in developing qualities in us, hence it is important to learn singing, music, dance and acting in childhood. The lessons learned from childhood are always remembered and continue to inspire us. The Governor expressed these thoughts at a cultural programme organized on the occasion of Independence Day at Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, the Governor announced to give Rs 1100 each to each participant in the programme.

Appreciating the programmes presented by the children from families residing in Raj Bhavan and students of Kamala Nehru School, the Governor said that in today’s programme while some child played the role of Gandhiji, some other children played the roles of Lakshmi Bai and Devi Ahilya. The children performed wonderfully in the form of Tantya Bhil and Birsa Munda, symbols of our freedom struggle. On this occasion, he said that I believe that efforts to make good citizens of the country should be started from childhood itself. He asked all the people present in the auditorium to plant trees around them as we all have together faced the tragedy of Corona. He said that 15th August and 26th January are two occasions when children take part in patriotic programmes with much enthusiasm. Such programmes develops not only enthusiasm and fervor in children but also qualities like morality, courage, cooperation and determination.
