Aid distribution camp for PwDs held at Kishtwar
Assistive devices provided to 105 beneficiaries
KISHTWAR, JULY 14 2021  Social Welfare Department Kishtwar in Collaboration with Artificial Limbs Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a public sector enterprises functioning under the control of Ministry of Social Justice Government of India,  today organised an aid Distribution camp under Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) scheme here at DC Office.
 The camp was held under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma and District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Parveaz Qazi.
In the said event, different aids and appliances were distributed among 105 beneficiaries which includes the Tricycles for Adults, Tricycle Children, Wheelchairs Adult and small, CP Chair, Hearing Aid, MSIED kit, Smart Cane, Smart Phone, Daisy Players, Braille Kit, Crutches Walking Sticks Rolator Callipers Artificial Limbs etc. in presence of District Development Council Chairperson Pooja Thakur and DC Kishtwar.
Among others who attended the distribution camp included Block Development Council Chairperson, Block Kishtwar Suresh Sharma; District Development Councillor Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain Butt; Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal. Civil society members including Sarpanchs, Panches also marked their presence on the occasion.
The main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons by providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern standard aids and appliances to promote physical social, psychological rehabilitation of persons with disabilities by reducing the effects of disabilities and at the same time enhance their economic potential.
A similar Camp was held at Drabshalla  the  other day where aids and appliances were distributed among 86 PwDs. Two more distribution camps are being organised at TRC Chatroo and BDO office Paddar  in next two days whereat aids and appliances will be distributed among 78 and 60 beneficiaries respectively.
