Directs for strict adherence to Covid protocol, intensifying market checking
KULGAM, JULY 14 2021 The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
During the meeting, the DC directed officers of Jal Shakti and KPDCL to ensure smooth supply of water and electricity across the district. He also directed the Jal Shakti department to press water tankers in required areas and ensure no shortage of water at any place.
The chair was informed that the Sheep Husbandry Department has set up sale outlets (Mandees) for sale of sacrificial animals (Goats/Sheeps) at designated places across the district.
The DC directed the Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer to publicize these sale sites so that people can conveniently purchase sacrificial animals from these sites.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed the meeting that adequate numbers of poultry birds are available in the district.
Meanwhile, instructions were passed by the DC to constitute joint market checking teams to intensify market checking to check the quality of food items such as Bakery, Confectionery, Milk, Meat Chicken, Vegetables and other essentials in the market
He directed AD, FCS&CA to ensure that the process of Ration distribution is completed before Eid so that people do not face any difficulty in this regard.
Municipal authorities were directed by DC to ensure proper fumigation, sanitation and cleanliness and to repair defunct lights in town if any.
He also directed them to identify places for proper disposal of offal and to inform people regarding the same.
On the occasion, the Traffic police authorities were asked to ensure smooth movement of traffic.
CMO was directed to depute teams for covid testing at crowded places moreover he was directed to keep ambulances available along with medical and Para-medical staff at  religious places where main congregations are to be held on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.
Auqaf and trade association members were urged to ensure strict adherence to SOPs in Mosques and markets to keep coronavirus at bay.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR, DSP-HQ, ARTO, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildars, EOs and other officers besides members from Auqaf Committees, Trade and Transport Associations.
