EC Health reviews preparations for 1st phase of COVID-19 Vaccination in Kargil

KARGIL, JANUARY 16, 2021:Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan convened a meeting to review the preparations for 1st phase of COVID-19 Vaccination in the district on 18th January, 2021.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr Muhammad Abbas besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The officers concerned informed the EC that 3660 doses of vaccines have been received by the Health Department Kargil from Serum Institute of India out of which 2850 doses will be given for Health Care Workers and 810 doses for Armed forces. It was further given out that 20 soldiers from paramilitary forces were vaccinated today at Military Hospital Kargil

The officers further informed that vaccines have already been dispatched for the block headquarters and a control office has also been established at CMO Office Kargil and an emergency ward is also reserved at District Hospital Kargil in case of emergency.

The EC while expressing satisfaction over the preparations for the 1st phase of COVID-19 vaccination in the district directed the CMO Kargil to invite heads of premier religious institutions of the district on the inaugural ceremony of vaccination.

Meanwhile, the EC Health was informed that priority will be given to the Health Care Workers of Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kargil.
