With the onset of Rs 11000 crores Punjab urban environment improvement program, currently in 2nd phase, we have taken leap in sustainable growth of the cities
Under the first phase already work worth Rs 3013 crores have been done and under the second phase now Rs 8283 crores will be done.
Chief minister of Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh said while virtually inaugurated the onset of 2nd phase of this development program.
During the virtual ceremony conducted in Barnala today the former MLA and senior leader Mr Kewal Dhillon and Deputy commissioner Barnala Mr Tej Pratap Singh phoolka participated in the ceremony
Mr Kewal scintilla said that in Barnala works worth Rs 127 crore are being done. He added that under the second phase of this Urban Development programme Rs 17 crores will be spent on the development works.
He added that the funds being provided for developmental works will ensure overall development of the area. He said that fulfilling the long pending demands of residents of Barnala already Rs 92.45 crores of sewage treatment plant has been dedicated to the people. Besides this facility for sewerage, Water Supply, laying and repairs of roads etc has been done in various areas of the cities
He added that under the page 2 of this project 68 work will be conducted at a cost of rupees 17 crores. These include Rs 8 cr for Barnala city, Rs3 cr for Dhanaula, Rs 2 cr each for Tapa, Bhadaur and Handiaya.
The developmental works include link of few streets of Shakti Nagar II Balmiki Colony ward number 23 and 29 interlocking tiles laying Street Number 6 and 7 and adjacent streets of ward number 24 will be laid with 60mm interlocking tiles, in jutiya wale morche Ramgarh Road ward number 10 12 and 14 interlocking tiles will be laid, Raikot road to Gharuan Chowk Ramgarh and ward number 3 4 and 5 will be laid, Garcha road to Handiaya Chowk ward number 27 and 28 etc including 68 works will be done in Barnala district.
At this occasion the Chief Minister thanks local government Minister Mr Braham Mahindra and Finance Minister Mr Manpreet Singh Badal for laying down the road map that shall ensure your overall development of the city.
Deputy commissioner Mr Tej Pratap Singh phoolka said that all the works were being conducted in transparent manner and the best of quality is being ensured. He added that the government grants were being used at the fullest
