In view of ensuing Assembly elections, the district administration has decided to speed up the process of Special Summary Revision and Special campaign to be launched from November 1 to register new votes.

Disclosing this here today, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia said that a special campaign would be launched from 1st to 30th November 2021 to register/unregister or any amendment  in votes. She said that the Election Commission of India has announced the cut-off date as January 1, 2022 and youngsters who turn 18 years of age on that date, can register as voters. Forms for registering new votes can also be filled online at https:/voterportal.eci.gov.in or on the Voter Helpline App. She apprised that while filling up the form one should also attach his/her color photo, proof of date of birth and residential address.
 
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration has decided to set up special camps at the polling stations for filling up forms manually under which all the Booth Level Officers would be present at their booths on November 6 &7 and November 20 and 21, 2021. She also appealed to the youngsters to register as voters.
