Baby acne refers to the acne that develops on a newborn’s skin. Usually, acne develops on the baby’s face such as cheeks, nose, and forehead. This acne is very common and does not stay for long. As we all know a newborn baby gets irritated due to this acne and they face some redness on the skin as well. The face of the baby usually gets clear on its own from those acne breakouts, without scarring.
Baby acne looks like either small red patches or white bumps on a baby’s cheeks, nose, and forehead. They often develop within the first two to four weeks after birth. Many babies also develop tiny white bumps on the nose, chin, or cheeks. These are known as milia.
However, baby acne usually disappears on its own within the time period of two or three months so no urgent medical attention is required. But if the acne develops more than the time period then consult your gynecologist and they will recommend you the cream or ointment which will give the baby relief from the acne.
As there is wide information about the baby’s acne on the internet, do not attempt any over-the-counter or home remedies on the baby’s skin. Ensure that you ask your doctor first as there is a chance that the products will harm the baby’s delicate skin.
Some tricks that you can follow to clear the acne. Little changes in lifestyle can be a great home treatment for this:
