With the objective of enlightening students about the career opportunities in the field of radio with special reference to radio jockey, the Department of Mass Communication at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised an interactive session on ‘The Creative World of Radio Jockey’.

Mr. Ansh Grover, Programming Head (Radio and Digital), Mirchi Chandigarh was the resource person for this invigorating session. Referring to the world of radio as a blank canvas, Mr. Grover exhorted the participants to paint it with their creativity.
Outlining the mantra of a successful career as a radio jockey, he listed out the qualities that enable the RJ to establish a connect with the audience and carve a niche for oneself. The session provided practical insights into the art of radio jockeying and the participants found it immensely useful. Making the session all the more engrossing, Mr. Grover assigned the participants the task of making their links for their hypothetical radio show.
The participants then presented their links before the audience that were hugely appreciated by the expert.Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded this initiative of the Mass Communication Department to apprise students about the creative world of radio and the career opportunities therein. She further informed that it is a matter of pride that the college has been ranked among the top Mass Communication institutions of the country for three consecutive years by India Today.
