MCM holds sessions on LinkedIn and, College and Career Connections
The Career Counselling Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organized a session titled ‘Leveraging LinkedIn’ that aimed at equipping students with expertise in leveraging LinkedIn platform for their career enhancement. The resource person for the session was Dr. Prashant Sharma, Associate Professor, and Program Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida. The participants were apprised of the relevance and importance of having a profile on LinkedIn for career and professional growth. Prof. Sharma highlighted the various features of making a LinkedIn profile and gave useful tips for ensuring an effective presence on the platform.
128 students from various streams benefitted from the session and were motivated to use LinkedIn for showcasing professional skills and for identifying relevant job opportunities. In another event, the Career Counselling Cell organized an interactive session titled ‘College and Career Connections’ by Ms. Manvee Bansal, Director, Career Width. She explained the connection between college and career choices and also conducted a personality assessment test for the participants to assess their personality type and suitability of career options according to their personality. Over 180 students of undergraduate level of multiple streams attended and benefitted from the session.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava appreciated the efforts of the Career Counselling Cell for providing guidance to students for effective career planning and thereby, aiding them in the crucial task of chalking out their career paths. She advised the students to timely draft a plan for their career after due consideration of their strengths, abilities, and interests.
