MCM unveils its Covid Response Edition of Mehr Jyoti

Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh released the 2020 edition of its annual magazine- Mehr Jyoti, in a ceremony here today that was graced by Sh. H. R. Gandhar, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. Sh. H. R. Gandhar, Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava and the members of Mehr Jyoti Editorial team unveiled the pertinently named COVID Response Edition that documents and records MCM’s response to the pandemic. Committed to its tradition of fostering excellence in education, the college swiftly adapted its pedagogy to the online realm for uninterrupted teaching-learning experience in the preceding year. The current issue of Mehr Jyoti thus showcases innovations in teaching and learning adopted by the college during the lockdown along with social outreach activities that the college undertook during this period. In another event, Sh. H. R. Gandhar inaugurated the new premises of the college’s Research Centre in English. Functional since 2017, the Research Centre in English at MCM is the first approved research centre of Panjab University and currently has 18 research scholars enrolled. Speaking on this occasion, Sh. H. R. Gandhar complemented the college for upholding the tradition of excellence in academic, sports as well as co-curricular domains. He appreciated MCM’s efforts aimed at promotion of quality research and advocated bolstering of research acumen right at undergraduate level. Dr. Nisha Bhargava informed that this special edition of Mehr Jyoti is dedicated to the hard-work and indefatigable spirit of MCM’s frontline workers during the lockdown period and the team MCM members who worked relentlessly for the service of the society during these tough times.
