Under the supervision of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tejinder Singh Dhindsa, Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali  and the able guidance of Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal, Learned District & Sessions Judge- cum -Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases i.e. Pre-Litigation: NI Act  cases under section 138, Money Recovery cases, Labour and Employment disputes cases, Electricity, Water bills and other bill payment cases (excluding non-compoundable), Maintenance Cases, Others (Criminal compoundable and other Civil disputes), Pending  in the Courts/ Tribunals: Criminal Compoundable Offences, NI Act cases under section 138, Money Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Labour and Employment dispute cases, electricity, Water Bills and other bill payment cases (excluding non-compoundable), Matrimonial disputes(except divorce), Land Acquisition cases (Pending before civil courts/tribunals), Services matters relating to pay and allowances and retrial benefits, Revenue cases (pending in District Court, Patiala)& other civil cases (Such as rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific performance suits) etc will be held in District Patiala on 14.5.2022. For this purpose, benches of Judicial Courts will be constituted at Patiala, Rajpura, Samana and Nabha.

Today a meeting was held by Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Patiala with all the Judicial Officers of Patiala with regard to upcoming National Lok Adalat to be held on 14.5.2022. The Judicial Officers of Sub Divisions Rajpura also attended this meeting through video conferencing.  During this meeting, Officers were requested to make the maximum efforts to ripen adequate number of cases for being taken up in National Lok Adalat and they were asked to hold Pre-Lok Adalats. Officers were impressed upon that the cases involving small amount of recovery  could be preponed. Further they were impressed upon to identify the criminal cases in which the offences are compoundable and the officers have been asked to take the cases of compoundable offence on priortiy basis and apprise the parties that the case is compoundable in nature, give sufficient time to the parties to enter into dialogue/interaction and put up compoundable cases in Pre Lok Adalat.

Further, the officers who are presiding over the Special Court of Cheque Bounce Cases U/S 138 Negotiable Instrument Act have been asked to adopt all the means of services like Whatsapp, Telegram and other instant massage services for the service of the accused. The help of the bank who issued the memo against the accused be also taken to procure the details of accused whose presence could not be produced for want of correct/complete address. In the cases of bulk complaints, the officers has been asked to take up the matter with the representative of the said bank/financial institution and after getting effect the  service of the accused in those cases, the special Pre Lok Adalat be held for those cases. Further, the officers have been asked to take the help of Nodal Officer appointed by the Superintendent of Police for effective service of Non Bailable Warrants and proclamations of the accused. Further, Secretry, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala has been impressed upon to do the maximum publicity of the upcoming Lok Adalat through Print Media, Television, Radio and Social Media etc.

As such, an appeal is made to Public, to put forward their pending disputes before upcoming Lok Adalats, so as to save their valuable time and hard earned money. For this purpose, every litigant willing for settlement through Lok Adalat can request the Presiding Officer of the Court where his case is pending. Even in compoundable Criminal Cases Party can move an application for putting up the matter in Lok Adalat. In case of Pre-litigative matter, request can be made to the Ld.
