The Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a lecture today on the occasion of Orientation Day in the conference Hall of the Department by Prof. Bhupinder Singh Brar, Emeritus Professor, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Brar acquainted the students with the glorious past of the department of Political Science, one of the oldest departments in the country. Prof. Brar asked the students not to have only information but develop knowledge and wisdom. He emphasized that merely knowing the facts may be essential but not sufficient to develop an informed perspective about economic, social, and political issues that confront society, country, and the world. Prof. Brar also asked the students to develop the habit of reading the original scholarly text and not nearly depending on the self-help books.
The lecture was attended by the faculty and students of the department.
