PEDA Signs MoU with 13 reputed Engineering Institutes/Universities for promoting innovative projects
Rupnagar, 29 March :- Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), being the State Designated Agency (SDA) for implementation of the Energy Conservation Act-2001 in the State on Wednesday organized Competition on Innovative Ideas on the theme of Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency during the celebration of Energy Conservation Week from 27th to 31st March 2023 at IIT Ropar.
The competition was inaugurated by Sh. Kulbir Singh Sandhu, Senior Manager, PEDA along with Sh. Pushpendra Singh, Associate Dean, Research Department, IIT Ropar & Sh. Dhiraj Mahajan, Associate Professor, IIT Ropar. The program was attended by more than 100 delegates. The ideas were presented by the students from various Architectural & Engineering Colleges from the State of Punjab. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize was distributed to the students on innovative ideas.
On this occasion, Chief Executive PEDA, Dr. Sumeet K. Jarangal, IAS recognized the efforts initiated by students and college management for participation and showed great interest in the field of Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency at the State level.
Cabinet Minister, Department of New & Renewable Energy Sources, Mr. Aman Arora appreciated the first-of-its-kind initiative by PEDA for the benefits of students & their participation along with Universities/Colleges in this competition on the theme of Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency in the State of Punjab.
Mr. M.P Singh, Director PEDA has mentioned that PEDA has signed MoU with 13 reputed Engineering Institutes/Universities for promoting innovative projects through Research & Development on Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency. More than 85 programs/workshops were organized at the State level for various Stakeholders and displayed the energy efficient building materials/products in the exhibition organized and more than 5000 participants trained from various stakeholders’ departments / organizations in the State.
PEDA thanked IIT Ropar for organizing this competition in their campus and all the participants and recommended to adopt energy conservation measures at their works and residences in daily life. Project Engineers PEDA Mr. Money Khanna & Sh. Sharad Sharma and more than 100 participants attended this program.
