Punjab Chief Minister lays foundation stone of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur State University of Law, Tarn Taran

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar virtually participates in foundation stone laying ceremony
University to offer five and three year Law courses
Jalandhar, August 27 2021 The Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today virtually layed the foundation stone of the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur State University of Law, Tarn Taran. The Chief Minister also launched the commemorative Gold and Silver coins on the occasion of ongoing celebrations of the 400th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. These commemorative coins would be available on the Phulkari stores run by the Punjab Government across the country.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghanshyam Thori also participated in the online virtual foundation stone laying ceremony. Briefing about the new Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur State University of Law, Tarn Taran, Deputy Commissioner said that the state government is focusing on providing job oriented professional education to the youth of the state. So this is another addition to that and new university would start academic operations from 2021-2022 which would provide
Mr. Thori said that the centralized admission at state level for law courses has been allocated to Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar by the State Government and the admission process for Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur State University of Law, Tarn Taran is under process. He further said the University is going to run LLB. (TYC), B.A LL.B (FYIC), BBA LLB (FYIC) and B.Com LL.B (FYIC) courses from the current academic session 2021-2022.
This is the third state run university established by the present government and earlier two new universities Sri Guru Nanak Dev Open State University and Sports University have been established at Patiala. Apart from this 18 degree colleges have also been set up by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government. Apart from this the present government has also established many private universities including Amity and Plaksha.
On the occasion Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Randeep Singh Gill, Principal, Baba Sahib Bheem Rao Ambedkar Government College Buta Mandi Sarabjit Singh were also present.
