On Sunday night, the accused first laced her husband’s food with poison, and then fearing that he might not die, she choked him to death, snuffing life out of him with her own hands. She then dropped her children at her father’s house, before eloping with her lover.
Simran and her deceased husband, Rajpreet Singh were married for 12 years and had two children together. However, soon after, Simran started having an affair with Lovepreet Singh Lovely. Simran’s family tried to stop the affair, reminding Simran about the future of her children, but the efforts were in vain.
The alleged murder came to light when her children told their grandfather that Simran had choked Rajpreet with a rope. Her children also demanded the sternest action against their mother. They demanded that their mother be hanged. On reaching Rajpreet’s house, he was found in a critical condition, foaming in the mouth with a rope tried around his neck. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he breathed his last.
