Quarterly meeting of District Legal Services Authority, Barnala

Barnala,15 July 2021  Quarterly meeting of District Legal Services Authority, Barnala was held under the Chairmanship of Sh. Virinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala. This meeting was attended by Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge Sh. Barjinder Pal Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Sh. Ashok Kumar, SP Sh. Jagjiwan Singh Cheema, DSP (D) Sh. Brij Mohan, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ms. Sucheta Ashish Dev, Civil Judge SD-cum-Incharge, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala Sh. Vineet Kumar Narang, DPRO Smt Megha Maan and Members Sh. Rupinder Singh Advocate, Sh. RC Garg and Ms. Shashi Sobat. In the meeting, Sh. Virinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala informed the members that during the last quarter, Free Legal Aid had been provided to 44 needy persons. He further informed about The Punjab Divyangjan Shaktikaran Yojna 2021 and appealed to members present in the meeting to make efforts for making the general public more aware about the scheme. Apart from this, while giving information to Police Officers he also asked them to incorporate about the information regarding entitlement of such person being called by the police U/s 41-A of CrPC so that they can approach the office of Secretary, DLSA for seeking such legal aid.
While informing about the National Lok Adalat being held on 11.09.2021, he informed all the members that in order to maximize the disposal in the said National Lok Adalat, the Judicial Officers have been asked to hold pre lok Adalats pertaining to Cheque bouncing (NI Act) on 04.08.2021 and 18.08.2021, Criminal Compoundable Cases and MACT Cases on 06.08.2021 and 27.08.2021, pending Civil Cases on 18.08.2021, Cases pertaining to Electricity Theft on every Monday, Civil Appeals and Land Acquisition Cases on daily basis, Family matter cases on 06.08.2021, 27.08.2021 and 03.09.2021. He asked all the members that maximum publicity be given to the upcoming National Lok Adalat as well as the NALSA schemes. He informed all the members that such publicity should be made by way of print media, social media and by installing flex banners at prominent places of the city so as to give benefit to maximum people.
