Jaipur, October 20 :-  Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said that the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games have created the best sports environment for the players in Rajasthan. The sports talents in the villages in this event have got such opportunities that they will be able to establish the identity of their families, villages-hamlets, district and country at the international level. Shri Gehlot said that it is the top priority of the state government to ensure the development of playgrounds, the availability of resources and facilities in the state and it is taking important decisions according to the intention of the players. With this, the confidence of the players has increased about their secure future and the state will become a top leader in sports.

Shri Gehlot was addressing the closing ceremony of the state level competition of the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games at Sawai Man Singh stadium, Jaipur on Thursday.  He assured the players that the state government would give all that is required for the players. He said this event has created a new history in the country and more than 30 lakh players from all age groups showed their skilll in the playgrounds. Around 10 lakh women took part and proved themselves. This event has been successful with the mutual coordination of the community coaches and administration and the pride of Rajasthan has increased in the entire country.

Concept of Healthy Rajasthan has been realised

The Chief Minister said, “The dream of Health Rajasthan that we had seen is being realized from the playgrounds. People have become stronger physically, mentally and socially through sports. Players showing the spirit of sportsmanship have given a message of love, brotherhood and communal harmony.

Urban Olympics from January 26, next budget dedicated to youth

Shri Gehlot said that now Rajiv Gandhi Urban Olympic Games will be organised from January 26 to promote sports and sportspersons. Besides this, next budget will be dedicated to youth, sportspersons and students to promote the young generation of the country and state. He appealed to the people of the state to send suggestions for the budget.

Centre must replicate Rajasthan Government’s scheme

The Chief Minister said that people have got support from various public welfare schemes including social security, women empowerment, old pension scheme for the state employees and mukhyamantri chiranjeevi swasthya bima yojana. The Central government should study schemes of Rajasthan and implement the same in the entire country, so that people across the country are also benefitted.

CM inaugurated match first, then felicitated players

Shri Gehlot inaugurated the volleyball match by serving at the court. He encouraged the players of Jhunjhunu and Churu by talking with them. Sports Minister Shri Ashok Chandna and Rajasthan Assembly deputy whip Shri Mahendra Choudhary too played the match. The Chief Minister felicitated the winning teams (in the first three positions) and best players by giving trophies and mementos. He also had a dialogue with the players on the stage.

 World Record set, certificate handed over to Chief Minister

World Book of Records, London handed over the certificate of world record to the chief minister in the function. The certificate was given for more than 30 lakh players taking part in Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games and for organising sports events at the same time in the entire state.

Future of players is secure in State

Youth affairs and sports minister Shri Ashok Chandna said that many decisions were taken in the state including out-of-turn appointments to sportspersons, reservation in jobs and increasing the prize money of medal winners. The number of players is increasing in the state. He said that the future of the players is bright in the state.

Coordination and harmony increased with Rural Games

Rajasthan State Sports Council chairperson Smt. Krishna Poonia said that mutual coordination and harmony in villagers have increased due to these historical sports. A message of religious harmony was given in the state through the sports torch. Now it is a big achievement to conclude the event with cherishing memories. She said that life is a sport and it depends on you whether you want to become a player or a toy.

PHED minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Tikaram Jully, Assembly deputy chief whip Shri Mahendra Choudhary, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation chairman Shri Dharmendra Rathore, Rajasthan Kisan Aayog chairman Shri Mahadev Singh Khandela, Rajasthan State Minority Commission chairman Shri Rafeek Khan, Nawalgarh MLA Shri Rajkumar Sharma, Rajasthan State Sports Council vice chairman Shri Satveer Choudhary and thousands of players and audience were present on this occasion.
