BENEFICIARIES OF OLD AGE PENSION, WIDOW PENSION, HANDICAPPED PENSIONS GIVEN THIS AMOUNT

Rs 42.46 lacs have been disbursed amongst the pensioners of various weaker sections of society in Barnala. Giving this information here today, the Chairman Planning Board Barnala, Mr Karan Dhillon stated that government was committed to provide all kinds of financial assistance for upliftment of weaker sections of society.
He added that for the period of January to March 2021, under Indira Gandhi National Oldage Pension there are 2745 general category beneficiaries and 1826 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries are have been disbursed Rs 27 lacs of pension. Every individual is being given Rs 200 pension per month. This is granted to people uptil 79 years of age.
Similarly, under Indira Gandhi National Oldage Pension beneficiaries have been given pensions for month of January and February 2021. These include 397 beneficiaries that have been given Rs 500 per month amounting to Rs 3.9 lacs. Under the same pension scheme, the 302 SC beneficiaries hagve been given Rs 4.53 lacs of pension amount for the period January to March 2021. This pension is given to people aged above 80 years at Rs 500 per month.
He added that under Indira Gandhi National Widow Scheme Rs 300 per month pension has been given for period of January to March 2021 to 399 general category women and 243 SC women amounting to Rs 5.77 lacs. This is being given to widows upto 79 years of age. Similarly, under Indira Gandhi National Widow Scheme Rs 500 per month is being to women above 80 years of age. 7 women from general category and 6 women from SC category have been given Rs Rs 19500 for period of January to March 2021.
Under India Gandhi National Handicap Pension Rs 300 per month is given to people upto 79 years of age. For period of January to March 2021, 29 general category beneficiaries and 26 SC beneficiaries have been given Rs 49500. Similarly, under the same scheme Rs 500 per month is being given to handicapped people above 80 years of age. For period of January to March 2021, 3 general category and 2 SC beneficiaries have got Rs 7500.
