Sandeep Singh directs the Department to start preparations for the hosting of the fourth edition of ‘Khelo India – 2021’ in Haryana
Chandigarh July 28- Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Sandeep Singh directed the officers of the Department to start preparations for the hosting of the fourth edition of ‘Khelo India – 2021’ in Haryana to be organized by the Central Government.
During the meeting, Mr. Sandeep Singh directed the officers that there should be no shortage of any kind in the event which is to be organized in the state. The Sports Minister said that most of the competitions of ‘Khelo India – 2021’ will be held at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula. More than 25000 players are expected to participate in the ‘Khelo India – 2021’ competition, so it is our responsibility to provide the appropriate facilities for boarding and lodging. He said that as a former player, he was well aware of the difficulties faced by the players coming to participate in the games. Not having adequate arrangements affects the performance of the sportspersons, he added.
He directed that emphasis should be laid on national level sports infrastructure and training in the state so that players can practice diligently and perform well in the upcoming games. He said that by organizing these games, players will get an opportunity to perform better and they will be able to learn better techniques being practiced by sportspersons of other states.
Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Mr. Yogender Chaudhry and Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Mr. S S Phulia were also present during the meeting.
